One of the most popular Indian dessert, here's for you the 'Gajar ka Halwa' recipe. Known to have originated in Punjab, it is a delight during the winter months. Grated carrots, milk, sugar and nuts are stirred and cooked together. Recipe serving: 2 Prep Time: 15 minutes Cook Time: 45 minutes Level: Easy Ingredients of Gajar Halwa 1. 1kg carrots. 2. 1 ½litre milk. 3. 5-7Tbsp ghee. 4. 5-7Tbsp sugar. 5. 2Tbsp raisins. 6. 1Tbsp shredded almonds. 7. 2Tbsp chopped dates. 6. 8 green cardamoms. How to Make Gajar Ka Halwa 1.Peel and grate the carrots. 2.Simmer in milk with the cardamom until liquid evaporates. 3.Heat ghee in a heavy pan and add the carrot mixture. 4.Cook over a gentle flame for 10-15 minutes. 5.Stir in sugar and continue cooking until the halwa turns deep reddish color. 6.Stir in dried fruit and serve.

Healthy Veggie Lover’s Pizza

Veggie Lover’s Pizza Ingredients 1 piece packaged thin pizza crust. 8 oz tomato sauce. 1 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella or cheddar). 1/2 cup broccoli, chopped 1/2 cup green bell pepper, finely diced 1/2 cup tomatoes, chopped 1 handful pitted black olives, sliced 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves Directions 1. Preheat oven to 400°F. 2. Spread tomato sauce on one piece of thin crust. Sprinkle cheese evenly throughout. 3. Top with chopped and diced veggies. 4. Cook for about 12 minutes. Let cool. 5. Cut into 4 pieces and place on a plate. Enjoy!

Whole Wheat Pasta in Mushroom Sauce Recipe

LEVEL: EASY COOK: 25 MINS PREP: 10 MINS SERVES: 2 INGREDIENTS · 50 gm shitake mushroom-soaked in warm water for 15 minutes · 100 gm fresh mushroom-sliced · 1 Tbsp chopped onion · 1 clove garlic · 1 Tbsp fresh thyme or fresh parsley, chopped · 30 ml white wine · 100 gm whole wheat pasta-penne or linguine · Salt and pepper for seasoning DIRECTIONS 1. Put the pasta in boiling salted water for the time specified on the packet. Whilst the pasta is boiling prepare the sauce. 2. In a heavy bottomed saucepan, sauté onion and garlic in olive oil, add mushroom and wine. 3. Once the wine has evaporated, add some of the water in which shitake mushroom was soaked. 4. Add salt, herbs and cook for 5-6 minutes. 5. Once the pasta is cooked, add to the sauce with a little bit of pasta water. Serve at once.

Whole-wheat Spaghetti & Avocado Sauce Recipe

LEVEL: EASY COOK: 10 MINS - 15 MINS PREP: 10MINS SERVES: 4 INGREDIENTS - · 2 avocados, stoned, peeled and chopped · zest and juice 1 lemon · 25g blanched almonds · 1 garlic clove · small pack basil · 300g whole wheat spaghetti · 25g parmesan (or vegetarian alternative), finely grated, to serve (optional) DIRECTIONS 1. Put the avocados, lemon zest and juice, almonds, garlic and half the basil in a food processor. Blend until smooth, than set aside in the fridge. 2. Cook the spaghetti following pack instructions. Drain and toss in the creamy avocado sauce. Top with the remaining basil leaves and grated cheese (if using) before serving.

There are several “levels” of vegetarianism, or types of vegetarian. Veganism is defined as a way of living that attempts to exclude all forms of animal exploitation and cruelty, whether for food, clothing or any other purpose. For these reasons, the vegan diet is devoid of all animal products, including meat, eggs and dairy. People choose to follow a vegan diet for various reasons. These usually range from ethics to environmental concerns, but they can also stem from a desire to improve health.
